I started my locs in June 2021 at 19 years old, after looking in the mirror and feeling disconnected from what I saw. While I LOVED my curls, I wasn’t nourishing them the way I should. And let’s just say—when you look good, you feel good… and my confidence? It was in the trash. I needed a change, so I made one.

I decided to install my own braidlocs—yes, you read that right! But what I didn’t realize was just how uncommon braidlocs were. A quick Google search turned into hours, then days of searching for guidance, only to find almost nothing. So, I trusted the process. Did it take nearly two years for them to fully loc? Yes. But when they did, I was prouder than ever.

By 21, I had discovered the true value of self-love and pouring into myself. And that’s when I found loc sprinkles—a creative, personal way to revamp my recently bleached locs and express myself. The process of picking out beads, designing layouts, and seeing my locs transform made me fall even deeper in love with my hair.

With this newfound confidence, I started posting my journey—sharing the things I once searched for. Whether it’s braidloc tips, loc care, or creative ways to adorn your crown, I want others to feel seen, inspired, and empowered in their own journeys.
